First of all, I just want to say thank you.

So many of you pitched in ahead of our mid-quarter fundraising goal yesterday, and while we came up just a bit short, I’m grateful for your support. The Senate GOP’s fundraising arm brought in more than $100 million last year to take back control of the chamber — so it’s critical that we ensure our grassroots fundraising is strong before November’s midterm elections, and your support is crucial to that effort.

Although we fell a little bit short of our goal before last night’s deadline, I appreciate the commitment folks like you have to defending our democratic values, and the support you give me to help make life better for American families.

I wish I could say the same about all of my colleagues in the U.S. Senate.

We’re in a critical juncture in our economic recovery, and with inflation at its highest level in years, it’s imperative that we do everything we can to get our arms around the issue and cut costs for Americans — especially by confirming a nominee to chair the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve is the most qualified body in our government to deal with market forces and drive down inflation, but Republicans are once again playing political games by blocking the confirmation of numerous nominees like Jerome Powell to the Fed.

Folks, you and I both know that politics is no game. So will you chip in whatever you can to help us protect our slim, 50-50 Senate majority so we can put an end to GOP obstruction and get back to governing for the people?
