We wanted to give you an update on one of the issues Josh has been working on lately: improving access to affordable and quality health care here in North Carolina.

What’s clear is that too often, when one hospital swallows up another hospital, patients end up paying higher prices and getting worse quality care.

This month, Josh initiated conversations with different stakeholders, including fellow elected officials, patient advocates, hospital representatives, economists, and more. It’s clear that we need stronger oversight of hospital consolidations to make sure they serve our interests, and not some corporate bottom line.
