The gun lobby isn't just against gun safety laws—they're trying to pass
bills that encourage violence.

Shoot First laws—also known as Stand Your Ground legislation—are deadly,
reckless, and extreme. They make murder legal. People can use deadly force
as a first option rather than the last, even when they can clearly and
safely walk away. And the gun lobby has made it a pillar of its agenda.

With 29 Shoot First states touching every region of the country, too many
states have left their communities at risk of gun violence and
vigilantism.

That's why we're organizing right now to do something about it. We're
doubling down on our efforts to defeat any attempt to pass Shoot First
laws in other states and expanding campaigns to repeal them. Because of
our movement, lawmakers are already moving to do away with these deadly
laws in Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.

With Shoot First laws in 29 states, the gun lobby isn't slowing down. We
need to make sure everyone understands what's at stake. We need you in
this fight with us. [ [link removed] ]Take a moment to learn more about the dangers of

Research shows that Shoot First laws make our nation's gun violence crisis
worse and do nothing to deter crime.

These laws lead to more gun deaths every month nationwide. They also
drastically reduce consequences for shooters and worsen anti-Black racism:
Homicides in which white shooters kill Black victims have been deemed
justifiable five times more frequently than when the situation is
reversed.

We're committed to defeating Shoot First in all 50 states. Our communities
aren't safe as long as these laws are on the books.

Thank you for being a part of this movement.
