Friend -
Because we are now in an us and them paradigm, language gets confusing and misunderstood. I talk about building community engagement but what do I mean? I don’t mean just the communities of color, even though that is a focus of ours. Rural working families of all ethnicities including white families are being hit hard by COVID, by the economic challenges, and deepening political divisions. When I say we are for community empowerment it is about the idea that we are tied by the social nature of our way of life in America.

So, I ask for your help in both supporting our approach to build community between BIPOC and communities of working white families. One strategic focus of ours will be non-urban or non-major-city voters whose communities may be small but together can be powerful. It is here where we most need to build cross-cultural understanding and alignment. Rural hospitals, economic support, and strong educational opportunities are critical in these areas. This helps all of us.

So help us build on this work and unite our communities in directing our future toward the positive. We will continue to fight those who will spread fear and lies to divide us. We will not shy away from criticizing those, especially in leadership, who continue to pit us vs. them. And this includes allies of ours on the left, too. But we need your help. In the next few weeks I will elaborate on our work in Wisconsin. Our efforts to support the secretary of states that defend clean elections. And our work to support up and coming new leaders. This is not my favorite thing to ask but your dollars allow us to maintain our independence and execute work that makes us and you proud. Thank you for your continued support, Andy, PowerPAC |
