I am so excited to share with you that this morning, Michelle Siri and I officially filed to run for Governor and Lt. Governor of Maryland for the 2022 Democratic Gubernatorial Primary Election. 

We couldn’t have made it to this moment without supporters like you, friend. We are so grateful for your support, and I look forward to what we will accomplish together in the coming months — from getting more ads on air to hosting events with key coalitions to putting up yard signs in front yards across the state. But that takes resources, and I’m counting on all of you to help me do this.

Will you help us seize the momentum of this moment by pitching in today?

I’ll be honest, friend, this is a surreal moment for me. As a kid whose life was saved by public school teachers, the only reason I am here today is because I was lucky enough to get the right support from the right public institutions at an indescribably difficult time when both of my parents passed away. My whole life has unfolded against the odds, and the opportunities that led me to this exact moment, filing to put my name on the ballot, are not only how I am able to run for office, but also why I am running to be Maryland’s next Democratic Governor. 

My story represents the promise of progress that is possible when we invest in state government and public institutions as transformative forces for good. This race for governor is our chance to break down barriers to opportunity and create a future for our state where every Marylander has an equal opportunity to succeed — but it's going to take all of us to make it happen. 

Now that Michelle and I have officially filed our paperwork to be on the ballot, we're launching our Promise to Progress Tour across the state to continue to share our vision with Marylanders and to build this progressive movement from the ground up. People are living their day to day lives and might not know there's a gubernatorial election this year – so we’ve got to spread the word, and I need your help to do it.

Can you chip in what you can today towards our Official Promise to Progress Fund so that Michelle and I have the resources to reach voters all the way from Dorchester County to Allegany County to Baltimore City and build a winning coalition of voters committed to a more just state?
