John,

The Senate passed the Move Ahead WA package with a historic set of investments to address longstanding inequities and problems with our transportation system. This package:

Focuses $5.4 billion of the Climate Commitment Act dollars to decarbonize and make our transportation system more equitable by expanding and maintaining transit service; connecting our communities together and making it safer to walk and bike; and accessing ways to lower climate pollution from all types of transportation modes;

Creates a new baseline for prioritizing investments in overburdened communities and integrates oversight of the Environmental Justice Council to track progress of investments; and

Prioritizes maintenance and preservation over new highway expansions

Move Ahead Wa reflects years of work and now the House is going to start its process to consider it. Join me in thanking the Senate and encouraging the House to keep moving this forward. [[link removed]]

Alongside the historic investments reflected in the package, it also puts forward new revenue sources like the fuel export tax that holds the fossil fuel companies more accountable to the pollution they emit. This is the type of revenue we need to keep addressing climate pollution.

Let’s keep Moving WA forward! Send an email to both your Senator and Representatives with just one-click! [[link removed]] [[link removed]]

Onward,
