We need your help, friend – PFAS chemicals have been linked to cancer and other serious health risks at incredibly low doses, but these dangerous chemicals are still allowed in food packaging. EWG helped expose PFAS chemicals in 40% of food wrappers tested in 2014 and 2015. Since then, seven states have banned PFAS chemicals, and major food chains like Panera Bread and McDonald’s have pledged to remove PFAS from their food packaging. The FDA and the chemical industry have not done enough to protect the public from these dangerous chemicals. At last, Congress is preparing to take action, but we need your help to make sure the Keep Food Containers Safe from PFAS Act passes. |

PFAS chemicals are in the blood of 99% of Americans, and our food packaging may be a major source of exposure. Yet the government has so far failed to act. EWG has been fighting the PFAS contamination crisis for decades, and we finally have a real chance to get rid of this critical source of exposure. But we’re going to need a tidal wave of support to pass this bill. Can we count on you to join us? Thanks for standing with us, friend. – EWG Action Alert |
