John -- You’ve heard people say that every vote counts. And maybe you thought to yourself, “Yeah right.”
Look, I get it.
Despite the fact that Congress has maintained an approval rating of around 20% for the last two decades, 98% of incumbents are re-elected each year.
But your voice matters, John. You are making a difference and I can prove it.
When Brand New Congress got behind Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick last June, she was one candidate in a very crowded race, and none of the “experts” thought she had a shot.
But we saw Sheila’s drive, and we saw how hard her incredible team was working, and we knew she could win. When the primary for her special election rolled around in November, Sheila won by five votes.
Five. Votes.
She went on to win her general election last month by an eye-popping 79%. Now she’s serving in Congress alongside AOC, Cori, Jamaal, and Rashida.
Those five votes put Sheila in Congress, and BNC’s support made it possible.
So whether you made a donation, signed up to phonebank, knocked doors, voted for Sheila, or even just cheered her on via social media – you made that happen. Now we need to double down and win these races in Texas. Can you pitch in today? [[link removed]]
I want you to take a moment to think about what five votes could do for some of the elections we have coming up.
Five votes could be the margin that helps us elect progressive champions like Jessica Cisneros and Jessica Mason in Texas just two weeks from now.
Five votes could be the difference in any of the three Senate races we have coming up in May – five votes to flip GOP seats and put the Senate swing vote firmly in the hands of progressives.
I’ve been working on campaigns for nearly 25 years, and I’ve just about seen it all. But even I had my breath taken away by Sheila’s win. And it’s inspired me to fight even harder for the rest of our candidates.
Will you join me with a contribution to help Brand New Congress continue our critical work?

They didn’t believe AOC could defeat the 4th most powerful Democrat in Congress – until she did.
They didn’t believe Cori Bush could defeat a 50-year father-son political dynasty in St. Louis – until she did.
Right now two Senators are standing in the way of the entire progressive agenda. Five votes could change that.
It all comes down to field, John. Every call we make, every text we send, every door we knock, every voter we mobilize puts us one step closer to changing the world.
That’s what inspires me to get up and keep fighting every day, and why I refuse to be discouraged. Will you pitch in today to keep us in the fight? [[link removed]]
Let’s win some elections.

Since 2016 BNC has led the way in advancing popular policies like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. We invest EARLY to help grassroots candidates succeed. We recruited and elected AOC in 2018 and Cori Bush in 2020 alongside Jamaal Bowman and Rashida Tliab. And we have our first win of 2022: Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick won her primary by FIVE votes thanks to BNC.
We have elections from now until November, and our candidates are counting on your support. Pitch in today and join us as we take over Congress and return power to the people.
