John,
Already, we’ve collected more than 50,000 signatures urging President Biden and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra to end Donald Trump’s Medicare privatization experiment.
As long as they could stay under the radar, the private corporations who are trying to expand the so-called “Direct Contracting” program were happy. But now, they’re feeling the pressure―and they’re contacting HHS to fight back.
Help our coalition get to 100,000 signatures and stop Medicare privatization!
Here’s what’s happening: Before they left the White House in disgrace, Donald Trump and Jared Kushner set into motion a process to privatize Medicare just a bit at a time.
Kushner set up, and Trump approved, a pilot program to allow Wall Street-backed startups and private insurance giants to take over portions of traditional Medicare―and people with Medicare might not be notified until it's too late!
Now, corporations who profit from this partial privatization of Medicare are asking the Biden administration not to cancel their program, but to “improve it” by adding some “guardrails.” Here’s the thing: This program breaks Medicare’s universal promise. There’s no reforming a plan that inserts a corporate bureaucrat between a patient and their doctor in order to deny care and make Wall Street money.
Add your name next to ours to demand that the Biden administration completely eliminate the Direct Contracting pilot―nothing less than that is acceptable!
Thanks,
