Hello Friend,

Our commemoration of Black History Month continues this week with the launch of our BHM 2022 playlist and more highlights of Black voices at URGE.

Check out the playlist and follow us on Instagram to keep up with our Black History Month spotlight series.

We also invite you to join us next week at our Black History Month movie night on Wednesday, February 23rd @ 4:30pm PST / 5:30 MT / 6:30pm CT / 7:30pm EST. The feature film is A Place of Rage by Pratibha Parmar. The 1991 film celebrates the achievements of Black women and features interviews with Angela Davis, June Jordan and Alice Walker. The trio discuss Black power and feminist movements in the context of civil rights, and momentous, revolutionary contributions from Rosa Parks, Fannie Lou Hamer and more.

We hope to see you there!

URGE: Unite for Reproductive Justice & Gender Equity builds power and invests in the leadership of young Black women, queer, nonbinary, trans young people in the South & Midwest. In honor of the work our members do to lead and advocate every single day, I ask you to join us in raising $1,000 this month.

Friend, will you chip in with a $20 donation to help us reach our goal today?

In Solidarity,

Kenyetta Whitfield, she/her

URGE Communications Manager
