** Voting: Our Most Sacred Right In The Balance
------------------------------------------------------------

Before the Indiana General Assembly is HB 1116, a bill designed to suppress the voting rights that Hoosiers have enjoyed for decades. The amended bill would require a voter to say – under the penalty of perjury – that they can’t vote in person on Election Day or during the state’s 28-day early voting period in order to claim on the reasons a voter needs to absentee vote by mail.

The question is why does that matter? ** On This Day In History: NY Council Prohibits Housing Racial Discrimination (1951)
------------------------------------------------------------

On this day in Black History, New York state and New York City human rights laws include additional protections based on age, citizenship, lawful job or source of income, gender, gender identity, or gender expression, marriage or partnership status, current children or plans to have children in the future, sexual orientation, experience as a survivor of domestic violence, stalking, or sex offenses and military service, according to N.Y.C. Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).

“A democracy cannot thrive where power remains unchecked and justice is reserved for a select few. Ignoring these cries and failing to respond to this movement is simply not an option — for peace cannot exist where justice is not served.” — John Lewis
