Born and raised in Adams County, Yadira has spent her career serving Colorado families—as both a pediatrician and an accomplished state legislator. During her time at the State Capitol, Yadira has been a fierce advocate for working people. She’s passed legislation to fund universal preschool, lower prescription drug costs, and worked to protect renters from eviction during the pandemic.
Yadira isn’t shy about fighting for what’s right. She’s stood up to the biggest corporate bullies and entrenched special interests: Big Pharma and insurance companies, oil and gas CEOs, and even big tobacco. And now she’s running in the newly drawn 8th Congressional District so she can deliver results for Coloradans who’ve become frustrated with a lack of action in Washington. This swing district is a key pickup opportunity for Democrats—and Yadira would be the first ever Latina representative from Colorado.
