Washington needs a Guaranteed Basic Income!

We are each the experts in our own lives and know how to take care of our needs better than anyone else. Direct, unrestricted cash provides the dignity and choice to be able to care for ourselves and our families.

This year, House Bill 2009 was introduced to start a statewide Guaranteed Basic Income program. But with the shorter session in even years, the Housing, Human Services, and Veterans Committee prioritized renter protection bills and there was not enough time for a public hearing on HB 2009.

Policy and Field Campaign Manager, Shaun Scott, recorded the testimony he planned to give during the hearing on Guaranteed Basic Income. WATCH HERE: [link removed]

To learn more about Guaranteed Basic Income and how to expand programs across the state, the Housing, Human Services, and Veterans committee will host a work session this Friday, February 18 at 10 AM. Watch live or recorded on www.TVW.org.
