I’ve never been afraid to point out hypocrisy and take on the tough fights, friend.

So when I learned my Republican colleagues are trying to criminalize abortions and pass a trigger ban, I knew I had to speak out.

Right now, South Carolina Republicans are trying to pass a restrictive anti-abortion bill that would ban ALL abortions immediately if Roe v. Wade is overturned or dismantled at the federal level.

This bill calls for the criminal prosecution of any person who obtains an abortion and the medical professionals who provide abortion care. They could be charged with murder and could even face the death penalty.

Let me be unequivocally clear: Reproductive healthcare decisions should be between patients and their doctors, not politicians.

I’m so frustrated by the hypocrisies and double standards. That’s why I introduced landmark legislation like the Viagra bill and Pro-birth Accountability Act.

I’ve spent my career fighting to protect the right to choose and the right to reproductive care for all pregnant people. And as your Governor, you can bet I’ll continue to support reproductive freedom and stand up against any restrictive anti-abortion bills.
