As the appointed Co-Chair of Pennsylvania's House Democratic Campaign Committee (HDCC) I am personally committed to flipping the PA State House from Republican to Democrat in this election cycle. That being said, the hard work starts now, and I can’t do it alone.
The Legislative Reapportionment Commission (LRC) consisted of a five-person panel made up of two Republicans & two Democrats from the House & the Senate and chaired by an independent member. This new plan was approved and it is the first time in years, or possibly ever that there was no gerrymandering. The Republican lawmakers are very critical of this plan because it could significantly shift the balance of power in the legislature. They are threatening a constitutional amendment which would give them greater power in approving redistricting going forward if it were to pass.
This is where we are right now. We have one chance to flip Pennsylvania Blue and that is this year. When we achieve a Democratic majority we can protect women’s health, protect our open space, protect our environment, and move our Commonwealth forward.
