Last week was... a productive week in Congress? You’ve heard my frustrations with gridlock in Washington, but I wanted to stop and share info on a really awesome bill we just passed - the America COMPETES Act.

Here in California prices have been skyrocketing - whether it’s gas, housing or just everyday groceries. This bill tackles these high prices in a few important ways:

First, it’s going to bring down prices by streamlining our supply chain. It authorizes $45 billion in investments to make sure we’re making what we need here at home and lessens our dependence on China. Second, it makes major new investments in domestic manufacturing to bring good-paying jobs back to places like the Central Valley. That means new high paying jobs for our workers and lower costs on everything from laptops to cars for our families.

And third (this is the part of the bill I wrote), it expands apprenticeship programs so our kids have multiple paths to a great career.

This is the bill we need to bring down prices, turbocharge our economy, and ensure our kids are ready for the jobs of the future. But we have to get this past the finish line. John, will you please add your name in support of the America COMPETES Act today?
