Greetings Friend,
Thank you to all who attended our School Board Bootcamp events! We had an incredible time meeting candidates and hearing from our amazing speakers.
We had over 200 attendees between both our Raleigh and Mooresville events, and over 70 state and local candidates in attendance. With an incredible lineup of speakers, there truly was something for everyone.
The event began with a panel discussion including current school board members as they addressed why they decided to run for school board, and the practical lessons and advice learned along the way. Shortly after, candidates had the opportunity to hear from Aamon Ross, Founder of Kingdom in Politics, who gave an hour-long crash-course on what it takes to successfully run a campaign. Candidates also learned methods to identify and combat harmful curriculum content such as gender theory, Critical Race Theory (CRT), Social emotional Learning (SEL), and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in public schools.

During the second of 3 panels, attendees heard from NC Values Executive Director Tami Fitzgerald, discuss the various subject areas where harmful material on gender is introduced in public schools, as well as the content and names of some of the materials. At the end of her presentation, Tami referenced the ‘Mama Bear Manual’, which is a free resource created by NC Values to help parents combat harmful curriculum in their child’s public school. Please download your free copy <[link removed]> and be on the lookout for information regarding our ‘Mama Bear Workshop’ events that will take place during the first week in April.
For those in attendance with no plans to run for office, our final panel entitled “Parents & PACs - Other Ways to Engage in Education”, discussed various methods for political involvement that do not include running for office. Debbie Wuthnow, the President of iVoterGuide, discussed their highly researched candidate guide that is distributed throughout the state through their partnership with the NC Values Coalition. Debbie revealed that, in addition to federal and state races, iVoterGuide will be rating candidates for some school board races this year. During this panel, attendees also learned about the importance of becoming involved in local elections, as well as how to start their own Political Action Committee or parent activist group.
We were so blessed to partner with the team at FRC Action to make these events possible. We are also grateful to Christ Baptist Church in Raleigh for hosting our Raleigh event, and Trinity Baptist Church in Mooresville for hosting our Mooresville event.
NC Values was formed in 2011 to advance Biblical values in the culture, and school board elections are one of the many areas we believe it is important to do so. If Christians don’t run for school board, we leave a void in the public school system that is often filled by radical left-wing candidates that push for the indoctrination that we are combatting today. We encourage you to consider protecting children from indoctrination by running for school board. With your help, we can begin to change our current political landscape for the better by encouraging and equipping Christians to run for public office.
For those that missed our School Board Bootcamps, please be on the lookout for a video of the event that we will post to our website in the coming days.
Finally, if you support our work hosting free events like the School Board Bootcamp, and providing tools like the #MamaBearManual, would you consider making a needed donation today? <[link removed]>
