November 13th, 2019 The City of Austin’s approach to homelessness began to endanger the safety and health of Texans—including the homeless. So, Texas stepped in. On November 4th, the Texas Department of Transportation began cleaning homeless encampments under state over passes. The homeless are provided options for shelter, food and clothing as the state works with the business and faith-based communities on a long-term solution. Proposition 4: This proposition permanently bans a state income tax and passed overwhelmingly 77% - 23%. Of the 254 Counties in Texas only Travis County voted against banning a state income tax.
