“A CEO of a healthcare organization can make more than a million dollars annually. A congressperson can make up to $250,000 dollars annually. Yet, both parties are trying to cap wages for travel nurses. Travel nurses have been essential throughout the pandemic, yet they continue to be underpaid. Without these nurses, patients in understaffed hospitals would be left with no care.”
We are calling for an immediate stop to the Congressional effort to cap nurse salaries.

There are many lessons to be learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. One major lesson is that the U.S. desperately needs universal healthcare, which would provide a whole-country approach to access and care for our nation. A very efficient and effective healthcare system already exists. It’s Medicare and it effectively can be expanded for all.

Currently much of our Congress, just like my opponent Ken Buck, are beholden to Big Pharma and or the fossil fuel industry and trade in stocks in those commodities…
Congressional action should set the standard pay requirement at the recommended cap rate for traveling nurses and require administrative demonstration of compliance.
