[1]Mandela Barnes for Wisconsin

When I decided to run for Senate, I knew this was going to be a tough campaign.

But one thing that I wasn't fully prepared for was the millions of dollars in personal wealth that some of our opponents would pour into this race.

They've given $4.1 million so far, and more is sure to come.

Now that's a lot of money – no doubt about it. But we've got something that they don't, and that is 35,000 people who are contributing what they can to fund this campaign.

Our average donation is around $40, and I'm very proud of that fact. But that means it's going to take a lot of donations to keep up their $4.1 million.

So I am asking you directly:

Can I count on you to make a contribution to my campaign for Senate today? It's so important that we're in this together.

Let me be blunt:

It takes a lot of money to run a successful campaign for Senate, and flipping this seat is not going to be easy.

But defeating Ron Johnson is not just a question of who can pour the most money into this race. We must build the largest grassroots campaign that Wisconsin has ever seen.

That's what we're doing on this campaign. And that's why I need to ask:

Can you please make a contribution today? The only way we'll flip Wisconsin's Senate seat is if we're in this together.

Thank you for being a part of this campaign. We've accomplished so much already. And as long as we continue standing together, we are going to win.

All my best,

Mandela
