Dear John,
Today, Ceres released the updated Food Emissions 50 benchmark. The new data, which shows how 50 of the top food companies are making progress in addressing scope 3 emissions, also indicates how many other companies are lagging on even basic disclosures. |
The food sector is responsible for about 1/3 of global GHG emissions. Over the past few years, ambitious commitments from big name companies like Starbucks have grabbed headlines and boosted public confidence in the ability of the food sector to confront this problem at scale. |
Seven months ago, Ceres announced Food Emissions 50, a new engagement with 50 of the highest-emitting food companies in North America. This new effort is accelerating progress towards a net zero global economy in the food and agriculture sector by disclosing emissions, setting targets, and implementing credible climate transition plans aligned with the Paris Agreement.
Join Ceres experts on Thursday, February 17, as we review the benchmark results and key takeaways. |
Thank you,
