A personal introduction
------------------------------------------------------------

Hello! I'm Jon Mathieu, the new community engagement editor here at the Christian Century. I'm excited to use the thoughtful content of the Century to give you opportunities—if you want them!—to connect with me, other editors, authors of our articles, and each other. This will happen in a variety of ways in the coming months: new email lists, discussion resources, online spaces, and more. Plus, these weekly Editors' Picks emails will now feature a message from me or another editor, to let you know a little more about us and the articles of the week.

But this will all be a little easier if we know each other. Over time, I'll tell you more about myself. For now, I'll say that I'm a graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, a fan of science fiction, and the founding pastor of Harbor Online Community ([link removed]) , an online faith community for former fundamentalists and former evangelicals. My wife and I live in Pittsburgh at the moment, but we're excited to move to Chicago next month!

Who are you? Feel free to let me know by email (mailto:[email protected]) . It's up to you whatever you'd like to share, but I'd love to hear where you are, what makes you come alive, what you appreciate about the Century, and what topics you'd like to see us address in our articles.

I look forward to building and fostering community with you.

Jon Mathieu
