I've got good news and bad news, friend.

Let me start with the good news: While my rich Republican opponents fight it out in a messy primary and prop up their campaigns with millions of their own dollars, we've got grassroots momentum behind us – with thousands of folks like you chipping in $5, $25 or $100 at a time.

Now here's the problem: With time running out before tonight's crucial mid-month deadline at midnight, we're way behind our $25,000 goal. Missing it would be a huge setback while national Republicans pour upward of $40 million into Ohio to buy this Senate seat.

These megadonors don't give a damn about working families. They just care about electing someone who will keep lining their pockets. That's exactly why I'm in this fight to flip Ohio blue, expand our majority and finally pass some legislation that helps working families.

But I can't do it alone, and the stakes couldn't be higher: Experts at NBC News say that our battleground race could decide Senate control. So I'm counting on everyone reading this to chip in what they can to help me close this fundraising gap before midnight and fight back against the mountain of GOP spending.
