Paid summer internship opportunities for college and university students

[link removed]
Please help us share this exciting information with eligible college and university students across North Carolina, who are looking to gain experience in the nonprofit sector!

Dear Friends,

My name is Clare Bradshaw. I am a first-year fellow with the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation (ZSR). I am reaching out today to ask you to please help us share this important and exciting information with eligible college and university students across North Carolina, who are looking to learn more about the nonprofit sector!

ZSR is still accepting student applications for its Non-Profit Internship Program (NPIP) ([link removed]) until Monday, February 21, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Through NPIP, eligible college and university students are awarded an eight week, paid summer internship with a North Carolina nonprofit organization.

ZSR established NPIP in 2011 to diversify the pool of aspiring, young nonprofit professionals and to remove financial barriers that might prevent talented young people, who otherwise could not take an unpaid position, from gaining valuable experience in the nonprofit sector.

In 2016, ZSR expanded NPIP by partnering with five additional funders and is continually looking to build upon the collaborative to increase the number of total internships offered each summer. This summer, ZSR is joined by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, Foundation for a Healthy High Point, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, Reidsville Area Foundation and the Weaver Foundation to support these paid summer internship opportunities.

Students are selected through a competitive application process. Eligible students must be: 1) enrolled full time in a four-year college or university; 2) a resident of North Carolina or an out-of-state resident attending an institution in North Carolina; and 3) meet the financial eligible qualifications for a federal Pell-grant during the academic year in which they submit the application. The nonprofit host organizations, all of which are based in North Carolina, must also meet a set of criteria to participate.

Internships offer a range of exposure and skill-building opportunities in the areas of research, community outreach, public policy, communications, fundraising, and social media.

NPIP student applications are available on ZSR’s website at: [link removed].

Thank you again for sharing this information with your networks and/or any interested students! Please feel free to email me ([email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) ) with any questions.

My very best,
Clare
