John, four years ago today, 17 students and educators were murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

This was decades after 12 students and a teacher were killed at Columbine High School. Years after 26 students and educators were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary. And just days after the most recent school shooting that same winter.

When does this end? How much more can we possibly put our children through? How long will we accept the idea that not even going to school is safe?

At Brady, we say it ends TODAY. We say it's PAST time to ban assault weapons. And with our petition drive this week, we've been asking you to say it with us. But right now, only hours from our midnight deadline, we're still missing 1,411 signatures.

I know we have the power to make change and save lives. We can’t allow more years to go by with more attacks on our kids. I don’t want to have to worry — like all parents do — about my two boys’ safety when they go to school. And if we are going to protect our children and all Americans, we need to pass life-saving laws as soon as we can.

Change can't happen without you, John. That's why I'm asking for your help today. We're so close to our 5,000-signature goal, but time is running out, and we won't get there without you. Please, right now: Will you add your name to demand Congress ban assault weapons — like the one used in Parkland four years ago today — and help end gun violence for good?
