John -- This op-ed headline from the Washington Post about a: “redistricting turnaround” caught my eye. It made me worried about the danger of complacency.

Recently we learned of the Supreme Court’s ill-founded decision to allow Alabama’s 2022 election to take place on a congressional map judicially determined to be racially manipulated. It’s an ideological abuse of the Court’s power and stands in the way of delivering Black voters the opportunity to elect candidates of their choice. It is also a sure sign that we’ll continue to face significant challenges across the redistricting landscape and that we can’t take anything for granted.

If we grow complacent and come up short in this final phase of redistricting, we will have to wait until 2031 to achieve fair maps.

If you’re able, will you make a one-time donation to All On The Line? We’re helping voters challenge gerrymandered maps in court while continuing to advocate for a fair process in states that are still drawing maps.

I publicly challenged the narrative from months ago that conservatives already won this redistricting cycle because I knew it failed to account for our state-by-state strategy for fair maps.

Here’s the cold, hard truth: Extreme conservatives want us to see these news headlines and let our guard down. Why? Because if we do, they can gerrymander the remaining maps -- plain and simple.

Instead, we must build on our success, persevere after challenges and finish strong. The map-drawing process shouldn’t be treated like a horse race -- and we can’t let our guard down anytime we see a positive or negative headline.

Our success has always depended on us starting strong and finishing strong this redistricting cycle.

If you’re in a position to do so, will you make a donation right now to support our movement?

LET US KNOW YOU WON’T GROW COMPLACENT → [[link removed]]

If we get too distracted by individual determinations, we’ll lose our chance to achieve fair maps during this redistricting cycle and will have to wait another 10 years to make a difference!
