The Republican-dominated Kansas Legislature has led us to the inevitable: the Ad Astra 2 map is going to the courts. Multiple groups have filed lawsuits over the gerrymandered congressional map and are pleading for the courts to stop this illegal and unfair map.

 

The map only passed due to backroom dealings and blatant corruption after Governor Kelly originally vetoed it. Overriding Governor Kelly's veto and sending the map to the courts is a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars.

As we wait for fair maps, we’re reminded of the importance of having legislators that won’t try to unfairly gerrymander these districts and light taxpayer dollars on fire in attempts to secure political power.
