Senator Collins is at it again, saying one thing and doing another. Today, Collins voted to confirm Chad Wolf to become the next Department of Homeland Security Undersecretary for strategy, policy, and plans. Wolf is one of the architects of the Trump Administration’s shameful family separation policy.

Collins apparently can’t muster the courage to vote against confirming a person who helped marshal in a policy she herself called “inhumane.”

Here is the kicker, once confirmed, Trump is expected to name Wolf as Acting Secretary of Homeland Security. Collins apparently thinks that the architect of one of Trump’s cruelest and most controversial policies deserves to have even more influence over future policy decisions.

Senator Collins wants to be known as a moderate, but in reality, her votes peg her as a consistent supporter of Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump.
