Dear John,
We’re doing something different and I want to give you the opportunity to take part in it.
I’m pleased to be able to bring you the big undergraduate course I teach on Wealth and Poverty -- each week for 14 weeks, starting today.
Many of you have expressed an interest in having access to the course, and we’ve finally made it possible.
I’ll be posting my lectures and slides, and even an abbreviated syllabus, so you can do the key readings, should you wish. And if you join me, you’ll see how my 700 students respond to interactive quizzes, puzzles, and short role-playing scenarios, too.
Check out the first class, “Wealth & Poverty: What's happened to income and wealth in America over the past 40 years? And should we be concerned?”
(Don’t forget to click ‘like’ and ‘subscribe’ buttons too, while you’re on our channel!)
I designed this course to give students -- and now, you -- a deeper understanding of why inequalities of income and wealth have widened significantly over the last 40 years in the United States.
The course is intended to provide insights into the political and public policy debates that have arisen in light of these inequalities, as well as offer possible policies and strategies for reversing them.
I don’t tell students what to think; I challenge them to think harder -- and I promise I won’t grade you too harshly. In fact, I won’t even give you any exams.
I’ll be posting the next class each week for the full 14 weeks on Mondays at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET on our YouTube channel.
If taking it interests you, I hope you’ll join me, and invite your friends to participate. I look forward to seeing you in class!
