Four years ago today, a gunman used an AR-15 to murder 17 people and injure 17 more at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, Florida. It was one of the deadliest school shootings in history.
Since 2018, there have been 102 school shootings in which at least one person was injured or killed since 2018. One hundred and two. This is the dangerous reality our children are forced to live in.
That’s why we’re taking a stand and joining others to collect signatures demanding Congress take action and ban assault weapons like the AR-15 used in Parkland.
Will you join us in honoring the victims and survivors of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, and all the school shootings since, by adding your name to our petition?
Eric has made it his mission to put a stop to gun violence in America once and for all. In 2019, he introduced the Freedom from Assault Weapons Act which would ban certain assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Since then he has signed on to 18 other pieces of gun violence prevention legislation.
But while Eric and his fellow Democrats in Congress are working to end the violence that has become a part of our daily lives, key legislation languishes and dies on the Senate floor due to the gun lobby's hold on the GOP.
Enough is enough.
Our collective voice can be stronger than the GOP and their gun lobby donors. It’s time for all of us to stand and honor the victims of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High by demanding meaningful legislation from Congress.
So today we’re taking a stand to do just that. Please take a moment to join us by adding your name to ours so we can ensure this work continues >>
Thanks for all that you do.
