Democrats are treating the border like an Oprah Winfrey show. You get free education, a free plane ticket, free medical care, free housing, free food, and even a free lawyer to avoid the consequences of breaking the law. The American people are tired of America last policies where they are being put behind illegal immigrants and footing the bill for freebies.
The law clearly states that illegal aliens facing deportation do not have the right to a free attorney, but open-border extremists have been funneling taxpayer dollars through non-governmental organizations to circumvent the law. Additionally, the Biden administration recently created the Legal Access at the Border program to give potentially billion-dollar contracts to law firms that provide legal services for illegal aliens.
I introduced the No Taxpayer Funded Lawyers for Illegal Aliens Act to close this loophole being exploited by open-boarder advocates, put a stop to these wasteful practices, and put America first.

Under the Biden administration, catch and release has become “catch, release, and ship.” Media outlets have shown the Biden administration shipping illegal aliens on ghost flights and buses all across the country. In Joe Biden’s America, every state is a border state.
The consequences of aiding and abetting illegal immigration are being felt across the nation. Under Biden, enough fentanyl to kill every American at least seven times has been seized at the border. As a result, fentanyl deaths are skyrocketing, and it is now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18 to 45.
I recently joined 81 Members of Congress in demanding answers. The Biden Border Crisis is a disaster, but the solution is simple: pass my Secure the Southern Border Act to restart construction on the wall, end catch and release, reinstate the remain in Mexico policy, and use the National Guard to supplement Border Patrol’s manpower if necessary.

As Vice-Chairwoman of the Western Caucus, I joined Chairman Dan Newhouse, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Natural Resources Bruce Westerman, and 20 additional Members of Congress in sending a letter to Interior Secretary Haaland urging an extension of the public comment period to ensure local farmers, ranchers, property owners, and stakeholders have a voice in any amendments to the sage-grouse conservation plans.
The Biden administration’s decision to change the sage-grouse conservation plans has nothing to do with saving a bird that is legally hunted in 7 states, rather, it is about exerting the power of the federal government to lock up tens of millions of acres of land in the West, close off mineral and energy development, and destroy American jobs. I sent a letter to oppose the unilateral alterations to the sage-grouse conservation plans without consulting rural communities and landowners affected.
Colorado does not need the heavy hand of the federal government to micromanage our conservation plans. We already lead the nation, and we are already on the forefront of locally-driven conservation, investing more than $150 million to increase sage-grouse populations.

I delivered a speech on the House Floor honoring the life and legacy of Montezuma County Commissioner Joel “Joe” Stevenson. Joe was a larger-than-life champion of rural Colorado who never wavered in his belief that the world needs more cowboys. Joe devoted his life to the agricultural community, and he served as a brand inspector for the Colorado Department of Agriculture for more than 20 years. He was a rancher, a caring husband, a loving father, a public servant and a friend. I know that he is now in the presence of our Savior.

I worked with county emergency managers across Colorado to raise awareness of a potentially harmful federal regulation that will increase the costs of using emergency communications equipment. The USDA proposed instituting a new $1,400 fee for all users of communications towers on Forest Service land. This one-size-fits-all approach charges massive companies like AT&T the same rate as local emergency services. This is not right, since local counties allow federal agencies like the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management to use their communications towers for free, and now the Forest Service is thanklessly imposing a new fee.
I worked with Montezuma County Emergency Manager Jim Spratlin and led an effort supported by 11 Members of Congress to request that the U.S. Forest Service extend the comment period for this regulation by 30 days to give emergency services departments more time to note their concerns and to give the Forest Service time to find an amicable solution.

It was a privilege to honor the life of Tom Kilduff of Meeker and present his family with a flag flown over the Capitol and a copy of my Floor speech in the Congressional Record honoring his legacy. Tom was a man of grit and glory, and his love for America will be greatly missed.
Tom completed three tours in Vietnam, where he distinguished himself as a man of valor, sacrifice, and also a great shot, earning the USMC Rifle Expert Shooter’s Badge and Pistol Sharpshooter Badge, the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Tom!

I visited the Meeker Wrestling Club and wished them best of luck at the upcoming national championships in Virginia Beach. I am working hard for our children and future generations to make sure that America remains the most prosperous and free nation on earth. I’ll be rooting for them at Nationals in April!

Tax dollars should not fund crack pipes. It is amazing that in 2022 I have to say that, but under the Biden administration, here we are.
The Biden administration rolled out a $30 million grant for “harm reduction” programs that distribute “smoking kits/supplies,” “harm reduction vending machines,” “condoms,” and “syringes.” Big tech, the left wing media, and other so-called fact-checkers are rushing to the Biden administration’s defense, but read page 8 of the grant for yourself.
To prevent this waste of taxpayer money, Rep. Dan Bishop and I introduced the HUNTER Act to prohibit funding for any drug paraphernalia, including crack pipes and syringes.

Fox News, Boebert seeks to ban federally funded legal aid to illegal immigrants “‘The principle is really simple: No more American tax dollars to help illegal aliens cut the line and skirt our laws,’ Boebert, a freshman lawmaker, told Fox News Digital in an interview. One study found that cities have provided an estimated $5.6 million in taxpayer money for illegal immigrants' legal defense. Boebert said it's time to return to ‘America first,’ in a nod to former President Trump's policy mantra.’”
The Journal, Montezuma County, Boebert challenge proposed fee for towers on Forest Service land
“Boebert, Montezuma County and members of Congress asked for clarification on exemptions of the new fees given existing intergovernmental agreements. ‘The Forest Service’s proposal to significantly increase fees for communications towers utilized by counties appears to be a top-down, one-size-fits-all mandate drafted by some bureaucrat in Washington that doesn’t understand the West or rural communities,’ Boebert stated in a news release. ‘County emergency managers depend on affordable access to their emergency communications towers to assist rural communities when disaster strikes, including helping fight forest fires on Forest Service land.’”
Fox News, Republicans introduce 'HUNTER' Act to ban taxpayer funds for crack pipes “A pair of Republican lawmakers authored new legislation to ban federal taxpayer dollars from funding crack pipes, needles and other drug paraphernalia, following a firestorm over a viral report that alleged the Biden administration would be funding crack pipes for addicts. Reps. Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Dan Bishop of North Carolina said in an exclusive joint interview with Fox News Digital that the Biden administration got caught ‘red-handed’ trying to fund crack pipes as part of a $30 million grant program and that legislation is needed to stop the ‘ridiculous’ proposal.”
The Journal, New county commissioner for Mancos District takes oath of office “Republican Gerald Koppenhafer, of Mancos…was appointed…to replace Commissioner Joel Stevenson, who died Jan. 18 of COVID. U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, (R-Colorado) gave a tribute to Stevenson on the House floor Feb. 9. It can be viewed on the county Facebook page.”

Last year, my office worked on 655 cases for Coloradans and returned over $400,000 to the people of Colorado’s Third Congressional District.
It’s the honor of my life to serve Colorado’s Third District, and as you can tell, I’ve been busy. I’ll continue to work hard to defend the Constitution, reduce government waste, and introduce legislation fixing real problems Americans are facing.
