John,
Today is Valentine’s Day. (If you haven’t gotten flowers or something nice for your significant other, let this be your reminder!)
And on Sunday, Eve and I celebrate twenty-seven years of marriage. I was looking through some old photos this weekend, and I wanted to share one that really brought back such wonderful memories (shush, it’s Valentine’s Day, I’m allowed to be mushy today!):
If you had told me that a blind date with Eve Sanderson in Los Angeles all those years ago would lead to the amazing life and family we’ve had together, I would not have believed it. Neither would Eve. I’m convinced she only went out with me out of curiosity — how often does an Eve go out with an Adam? (We went out for Italian food and to a jazz bar.)
And here’s the thing about Eve — she has been such an amazing partner through thick and thin, Trump’s tantrums and threats, and even both of us going vegan. And she still crushes me easily and soundly on the tennis court.
I couldn’t have done it without you, Evie.
I know you don’t hear from Eve very often — she’s a private person, who just happens to be married to a very public figure — but she’s the rock that holds our family together.
Since our anniversary is the same week as Valentine’s Day, it is kind of a rip, because the two often get merged into only one celebration. But we plan to celebrate with at least one nice vegan dinner out. I hope you will too (vegan or otherwise).
Since I’m focused on keeping the home fire burning this week, do you mind helping me keep the campaign fire going?
Can you chip in $10 to keep our campaign on track for a successful quarter? It makes a big impact on my re-election campaign and helps Democrats all across the country.

Remember, call your family and tell them you love them… and remember the flowers.

P.S. I have a confession to make. I always thought it was ValenTIMES day. Anyone else make that mistake?
