Dear Friend,
This Valentine’s Day, my thoughts are with four LGBTQ clients Immigration Equality is trying to free from ICE custody. These asylum seekers are at great risk of assault and mistreatment in detention just for being who they are.
We’re doing everything we can to secure their release so they can be reunited with their loved ones—and in the meantime, they need our encouragement and support.
Today, I’m asking you to add your name to a message of hope that will be delivered to all four of these individuals at their detention facilities. I know it will mean a great deal to them.

In South America and the Caribbean, our clients were shamed and persecuted for their sexual orientation or gender identity. They followed the promise freedom and safe haven in the U.S., but when they arrived, they found the exact opposite.
These four individuals have been detained by ICE for periods between eight months and two years, and every day they are in custody, their lives and health are at risk.
In the midst of this cruelty and uncertainty, we have to show these individuals they are not forgotten. They are in our hearts, and we are fighting for their release. This Valentine’s Day, please add your name to this message of support.
