Dear John:

Happy Valentines Day! Love is needed more than ever and, to that end, we're bringing you a special edition of PFLAG Connects in honor of PFLAG National's new #ReadWithLove initiative. Find all the ways below you can lead with love, stay connected, and help us take positive action. Finally, don't forget, next Sunday, Feb. 20 kicks off Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week (Feb. 20 - 26).

Let's #ReadWithLove Together

In case you missed it, watch our introduction of #ReadWithLove on an episode of Something to Talk About LIVE earlier this month. Then, join us in an effort to empower kids to do more critical thinking and make decisions for themselves. Through this positive call-to-action, we want to commit to including MORE books about all kinds of topics and people in our schools and libraries.

Learn more at pflag.org/ReadWithLove and share that link with your digital communities. If it's easier, you can also share this Facebook post or this Tweet from PFLAG National.

You can also join the conversation anytime on social media using the hashtag #ReadWithLove.

#ReadWithLove on our bookshelves

Schools and libraries are places where young people can explore their identity, from the activities they choose to the clothes they wear; from the books they read to their own names. We want to help in this exploration!

Our new PFLAG National #ReadWithLove bookshelves are for everyone to browse. Visit and share a link to this page including links to our Amazon* and Bookshop lists where you can select from numerous books to purchase and donate to your local library or other public collections in your community that needs MORE books that help everyone #ReadWithLove.

*There are also simple instructions on the page to make your dollars go further -- without any additional cost to you -- by using AmazonSmile.

Invite everyone to #ReadWithLove

Below are just a few additional ways to get others involved and #ReadWithLove. Together, we can help everyone understand accurate, honest, and inclusive education is necessary and beautiful.

STAY IN TOUCH. Share this link with your local community members so they receive #ReadWithLove news and updates.

SOCIAL MEDIA. We live in a time where information can be spread quicker than Cupid can fire his arrow. Let’s use it to our advantage, and spread love across all social media platforms using #ReadWithLove. You can easily share this tweet, this tweet, this Facebook post or the posts mentioned above on your personal or PFLAG Chapter's accounts as a starting point.
