Alessandra Biaggi - Democrat for Congress

Friends,

Many of you have reached out with questions about the new New York Congressional districts, so I am writing today to explain the process of redistricting, what the new NY-3 looks like, and why this race is important.

Earlier this month, the New York state legislature voted on new Congressional maps after the bipartisan commission failed to come to an agreement to pass maps. This process, called redistricting, is done every 10 years in accordance with new data from the U.S. Census. This is what NY-3 now looks like:

New NY-3 district lines

As you can see, this new district encompasses much of Long Island, parts of Westchester including my hometown of Pelham, and some of the Bronx.

Now, here’s why this is a race to watch: the current representative from NY-3 is not running for this seat in 2022, and the district has a history of conservative representation. The Cook Political Report says that this will be a competitive election.

So it’s important that we have the resources to come out on top both in the primary and general elections. If you are able, please:

Make a contribution to support my campaign for New York’s 3rd district. This is sure to be a close race, so any amount you can give, even $3, will go a long way.

All my best,
Alessandra
