John,
Today marks the fourth anniversary of the devastating shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
And since February 14th, 2018, school shootings have only increased exponentially, leaving millions of children and families traumatized, scared to attend a place of learning out of fear for their lives.
Our leaders have failed to take real action on this crisis. Time and time again, we hear of traumatic stories of gun violence which devastate communities.
Enough is enough, and action is long overdue.
Will you join me today in calling for action against gun violence? Our community needs us, and I can’t do this important work without you. Sign on >>
ADVOCATE FOR CHANGE
Gun violence is a pervasive problem in our country. And the lack of action taken by leaders has only made the problem considerably worse.
Anniversaries like today’s make it clear that our communities deserve change — and they deserve it now. Our neighbors and loved ones deserve to go to places like schools, malls, and grocery stores without fear of a massive gun violence attack.
What keeps my hope alive is the ways in which people have come together to care for one another after tragedies like these. From the mental health professionals and school resource officers to our law enforcement teams — I am so thankful for all the folks working to keep us safe. And today, I need your help to call on Congress to act.
Please join me today in calling for urgent action against the gun violence that devastates our community >>
Thank you for taking action,
Jan Schakowsky
