John,

This year, let's recommit to love…to that real love.

Nobody has love like our people, it shows in everything we do. Like when you get a hug from your grandmother and she doesn't want to let go, or when we're showing our expressions of love through our art, we make the world stand still. We redefine love, we embody love – we are love.

This Valentines Day, we are lifting up #BlackLoveMatters on all our social media channels. By sending Black Love Letters to various people in our lives, we are centering love, connection and beauty the way we know best, through expression.

Black folks have often survived on love alone – that's why we're so excited to use this Valentine's Day to uplift and share how #BlackLoveMatters in so many different ways.

Black Lives Matter is so much more than putting an end to the violence against us. It's about liberation. It's about freedom. Every day, we embody the spirits of our ancestors and can connect through this creative intervention -- all the while, fueling our movement as we uplift each other through the power of love.

In honor of #BlackLoveMatters, please record or write someone in your life a love letter. Whether your letter is for a parent, a friend, or a significant other – we're celebrating all Black love today because #BlackLoveMatters.
