If you’ve been following the news about Putin’s inevitable march to war in Ukraine and U.S. troop deployments in Europe, it’s understandable to be concerned.

No one wants more war — and especially not with two nuclear powers firing at each other. That’s why we fully support President Biden’s declaration that putting US troops into this conflict is off the table.

But it’s critical we are abundantly clear on one point.

If the situation should change, WAR WITH RUSSIA REQUIRES THE DIRECT APPROVAL FROM CONGRESS.

This is something all of our Congressional leaders need to be saying aloud — not to create more fear, but to alleviate it.
