Friend, let’s play a game.
I’m going to tell you some facts about a Senate candidate. Then, you tell me if that candidate is a Republican or a Democrat, and who he is:
- Vetoed medical cannabis for those with autism despite legalizing recreational pot.
- Signed a bill allowing for “catastrophic health plans” in Colorado.
- Signed the repeal of Colorado’s alternative fuels rebate program in 2011.
- Allowed a bill to change “Columbus Day” to “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” to die.
- Supported fracking in Colorado.
- Has taken millions from corporate PACs and lobbyists.
If you guessed Republican, we don’t blame you. Nope, that disgraceful list describes “Democrat” John Hickenlooper, who dropped out of the presidential race to return to Colorado and play party politics with our U.S. Senate race.
The good news is we’re here to take Big Money and the DSCC out of our government and give it back to the people. We’re here to represent Colorado’s diverse communities in the U.S. Senate rather than what Hickenlooper would do—represent special interests and toe the party line.
It’s going to take a lot to defeat him, but we can do it. Can you give $25, $50, $75, or whatever you can spare today to help us bring true representation to the Senate?
We’re running an unabashedly progressive campaign because we’re unabashedly progressive. It’s time for that kind of representation in the Senate, not for more meek “Democratic” representation.
Your contribution will help us stay in this for the long haul and show the DSCC and special interests that our government can no longer be bought.
We’re challenging a party liner who’s had his time. Now, it’s our time. We can do this together.
In solidarity,
Lorena
