Earth. Not only is it the only known planet to support and sustain life, but it’s filled with endless wonders — from the bumblebee bat (the world’s smallest mammal) to the blue whale (the world’s largest), from Giant Sequoias to coral reefs and rainforests. Earth is a remarkable and marvelous place!
But some people haven’t been showing Earth the love it deserves. Corporations have put our food, water and climate under constant assault; they put profit first, and survival of the planet and humanity second. And thanks to complacent regulators and corrupt lawmakers, they’re getting away with it!
Earth is in crisis. Toxic plastic pollution is destroying our oceans, lakes and rivers. Glaciers and polar ice caps are melting, imperiling fresh water and making sea levels rise. Factory farms, pipelines and power plants are destroying land, contaminating air and water, and endangering plants and wildlife. And oil and gas drilling is destroying our climate with dangerous greenhouse gases and pushing it to the brink of no return.
We can — and must — do better! Our love for the planet requires a continued fight to protect and care for it. Making this happen means building on one win after another at local, state and federal levels as we develop a larger movement that can — and does — take on the corrupt corporations and their political enablers.
