Friend,

When I feel my optimism in our work starting to dwindle I hold onto love.

Because love is what led me to become a public servant. It showed me how to best serve my community as Mayor of Newark, and then my state and our country as U.S. Senator.

Love is what keeps me grounded when my Senate Republican colleagues put money and power above the best interests of the American people.

And love is what keeps me fighting when I witness heart-breaking injustices such as gun violence, LBGTQ+ discrimination, and the systemic oppression we’re working every day to root out.

During the darkest days of the Trump presidency and the COVID-19 pandemic, I focused on love because it gave me hope when it felt like there wasn’t any and kept me fighting when many of us felt we had no fight left.

This country needs more love. Because love is what brings us together. It’s why you, me, and this entire grassroots team come together to fight for justice and form a more perfect union.

Friend, can you pitch in right now to fuel our work pushing for our agenda of love in Congress? We need to overpower the GOP’s agenda of spreading hate and lies and instead, choose love.
