John,

Valentine’s Day is about showing up for those you care about in meaningful ways. While California’s Governor Newsom is moving to expand healthcare coverage to immigrants, regardless of immigration status, Governor Hochul is doing little to show appreciation to the immigrants who have kept this state open throughout the pandemic. New York’s recovery depends on all of us being ready and able to rebuild. It’s time for her to deliver real action by funding Coverage4All.

It’s estimated that more than 8,200 New Yorkers have died from COVID-19 due to a lack of health insurance. It’s unconscionable that because of their immigration status, hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers are excluded from the lifesaving care they need.

You can help win healthcare coverage for the more than 150,000 immigrant New Yorkers excluded from receiving basic lifesaving care. By posting on social media, you help build support for healthcare justice across our state.

💕 Valentine's Day should be about more than candy & chocolates. It should be about love for every NYer, regardless of immigration status.

Healthcare is essential to living a safe and free life—it’s time for New York to step up and protect this fundamental right for our immigrant communities. Together, we can build a just and equitable future for everyone who calls New York home.
