Dear John,
It’s Valentine’s Day, and we’d like to show some love to the people whose hard work and care keep this country afloat: child care workers. Through a devastating pandemic, they showed again and again how essential their work is—to families, to communities, and to the country.
Even though WE recognize just how important child care workers are, the question remains: why doesn’t our government? We are entering year three of a pandemic and still, child care workers are left waiting for unmet promises of investments that would support their crucial work and our entire country. We need Congress to back up their words of thanks with action, and invest in building the child care system that early educators, our families, and our communities need.
To show our love to child care workers, we sent them a love letter in The Washington Post today:
