Climate change is hitting the Middle East with soaring temperatures expected to put significant strain on already scarce water and agricultural resources. This in turn threatens the national security and stability of countries concerned.
Several important initiatives are being implemented in Israel, Palestine, and the neighboring region to reduce emissions and bring water security. Advances in solar energy and water desalination are equally promising.
Cooperating on climate change can be a concrete way to build trust and help achieve peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine and their integration in the region.
