Welcome to Monday, February 14th, folks...

The U.S. and its NATO allies are sending more troops and equipment to Ukraine.

Senior U.S. defense officials told Reuters on Friday that 3,000 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division are being deployed to Poland to bolster the country’s defensive capacity, as it shares a border with Belarus which is currently hosting a significant number of Russian military personnel.

The U.S. is also deploying Air Force assets, with eight F-16 Falcons moving from Germany to Romania and eight F-15 Eagles deployed from Great Britain to Poland as part of NATO’s air policing mission and to serve as an additional deterrent.

Congress Approves Bipartisan Bill Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Misconduct Claims

Both chambers of Congress recently voted to approve a bill invalidating arbitration agreements that prevent a party from bringing a sexual misconduct claim in court. The bill now goes to the desk of President Biden, who is expected to sign it into law soon.

The Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act of 2021 passed the House on a bipartisan 335-97 vote Monday, then the Senate advanced the bill on a voice vote Thursday.

The bill prevents pre-dispute arbitration clauses, such as those often included in employment agreements or customer waivers, from being used in cases of alleged sexual misconduct.
