It’s Kai, Alexandra’s finance director. Not sure if you saw our email from earlier in the week but we are currently in a contest hosted by one of our endorsers, Blue America PAC, to win $1000.

Candidates simply had to submit their favorite band and people vote for the candidate with the favorite band that they like the most. The candidate with the highest number (not amount) of donations wins the additional $1000 check from Blue America.

I’ll be honest the band Alexandra picked would not have been my first choice.

Rather than pick a classic 80s rock band to appeal to our audience like I suggested, Alexandra stuck to her guns and went with her true favorite band Imagine Dragons. She didn't go with a big popular artist, she went with her actual favorite. She’s being herself and not playing the games, something which is true about her whole candidacy. 

When I asked Alexandra why she decided to go with Imagine Dragons, here’s what she told me: 

Imagine Dragons are an underdog and so am I, but neither of us has let that define the possibilities for our future. I'm consistent with bringing this sort of energy to this race and to my future seat in Congress, hence why Imagine Dragons are my #1 pick for this competition.

The competition is neck and neck and we are 11 votes shy of taking first place. Can you chip in $1 to put us over the line?
