I want to talk to you about something important:

As a working mom of three boys and as a Nana, I've experienced the same challenge so many Americans face: finding and affording child care.

When my husband Jerry and I worked in law enforcement, a grueling shift at the police station was only the beginning of a long day. After I was done with work, I'd meet him in a parking lot to swap the kids into my car as he went to start his shift.

Luckily, we had this option. It was hard, it was exhausting, but we made it work for our three boys. Many families across the country, however, don't have options and simply cannot afford the out-of-control child care costs.

Here's the deal: We need affordable child care now. That's why President Biden is fighting for paid family leave, affordable child care and universal preschool, and why we got it passed in the House. It's time for the Senate to do the same. That's why I'm reaching out, friend. I need 10,000 grassroots supporters – including you – to join me in putting pressure on the Senate to support families.
