Team,

The over representation of white men on the Supreme Court is not by accident, or because there have not been qualified women or people of color. There have always been qualified Black women that can serve – but despite this, many people have stood in the way of Black equality throughout our country’s history.

Senator Ted Cruz is one of them.

When Cruz said he was offended that President Biden pledged to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court, it was a comment many Black people who have earned their way are all too familiar with – I’ve heard it in my own life.

Team, as a Black American woman representing a majority Black American territory, I know all about political forces standing in the way of progress, and I will always use my platform to call out anyone that says the full inclusion of ALL Americans is offensive – but I need your help.

Will you join me today and let Senator Cruz know that the inclusion of Black Americans at all levels should not and will never be offensive? [[link removed]]

Senator Cruz does not speak for me when he said this is “an insult to Black women.”

I want to be clear with Senator Cruz: There are many qualified Black women in our country who have worked very hard to get where they are, and that have earned consideration to serve on the highest court in the nation.

The only person insulted is him. Please contribute today and let Cruz know that YOU are not offended, and that Black progress is American progress. [[link removed]]
