John, I'm excited to share the latest from CRC with you:
Featured Video What Do Conservatives Have in Common with the Black Panthers?
In 1967 the Black Panthers were known as the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. This early version of the Black Panthers had some philosophic similarities with the conservative movement today. Although coming from ideologically opposite directions, conservatives and the Black Panther Party shared a very healthy respect for the Second Amendment, an appreciation of private schooling, and a common desire to replace the American welfare state and publicly expose its flaws.
Truth is often stranger than fiction.

InfluenceWatch Podcast 204 An Education on Image In this episode: The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) has a public image problem. Increasing numbers of parents have become aware of the union's involvement in prolonging destructive restrictions on schoolchildren in the name of "protecting" them from coronavirus--most notably school lockdowns--despite widespread evidence that they do not control viral spread and have harmed students’ educations.
Rather than enable children to resume their childhoods, Randi Weingarten's union is trying to fix its image problem by controlling the narratives put before children. The AFT formed a partnership with NewsGuard, a rating group that tracks the supposed trustworthiness of news outlets, to bring its rating tools into classrooms. Unsurprisingly, NewsGuard leans to the left.
Joining CRC's Michael Watson to discuss the troubling partnership is Dan Gainor, vice president for Free Speech America at the Media Research Center.
