John,
We’re getting closer to Congress passing an omnibus spending bill that reflects the actual needs of the people―finally leaving Trump-era spending levels behind. But we have to keep fighting.
With Congress passing yet another stop-gap spending bill through March 11th to give them time to work out the details, we need to make clear that flat Trump-era spending is not cutting it for millions of low-income and working people.

Thank you for demanding a government that is responsive to the needs of the people.

John,
The U.S. Senate is expected to vote any day on a short-term spending bill to avoid a government shutdown. But, by continually kicking the can down the road, Congress is locking in Trump-era spending levels for another month―hurting low-income and working families.
One year into Joe Biden’s presidency, it’s time for Congress to pass a spending bill that reflects the actual needs of the people. And, Joe Biden’s budget does just that―more than doubling K-12 education spending for low-income communities, restoring and increasing nutrition spending for the elderly, increasing funding for housing programs for the aging and people with disabilities and more!
Write to your members of Congress today and demand they pass a 2022 spending bill that meets the needs of the low-income and working people. Tell them to end Trump-era spending levels!

Last year, the U.S. House passed appropriations bills that reflect needed increases over Trump-era spending. But because of obstruction in the Senate, these spending bills failed to become law.
Now, thanks to your activism, Congress is getting closer to an agreement on a long-term spending bill that is expected to increase funding for critical programs. But, we need to convince at least 10 Republican senators to break with Mitch McConnell and agree to fund the services their states need.
There are plenty of issues that impact red and blue states alike, from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program to keep people safe and warm during the winter, to veterans’ health care, to strengthening schools, to combating the opioid epidemic, and more.
Join CHN and our national allies in demanding Congress act! Write to your senators and representative now and urge them to pass a spending bill that reflects the needs of the people!
Thank you for taking action today,
